Although bonuses are an important consideration, they shouldn’t be the only criteria that you use when choosing where to play.
1.Match Bonus. Usually £/$/€ 100.00 – 300.00
This bonus is a top-up of your deposit, otherwise known as match, as in “for every pound/dollar/euro that you deposit, we will match you with 2”, and so on.

Bonus offers range from a top up on your deposit to free play money to free spins. In some cases, there is no risk involved in accepting a bonus. In other cases, you need to front up some cash in order to be entitled to the bonus.
They are generally quoted as a percentage match (so a 100% match would double your deposit, a 200% match would triple your deposit and so on).
Often you will find casinos offering much larger match bonuses, such as £/$/€500- 1200 and so on. These larger match bonuses are normally spread over a number of deposits, say between 3 and 5.
Be careful though and use common sense. The old adage applies here: “if it looks too good to be true, it probably is“. Casinos aren’t charities, we hate to break it to you!
2.No Deposit Bonus, No Purchase Needed. Usually: 5.00 – 30.00
This is the simplest to explain- you are just given money to play in the casino (as a test). The amounts are usually lower, and there are conditions.
You will need to play a minimum number of bets before you withdraw any money- the so called wagering requirement. This is to stop people simply claiming the bonus and then immediately withdrawing it.
3.Free Spins
Very similar to the no deposit bonus, but normally restricted to one slot game.
Again, you have to meet the wagering requirements before withdrawing any money.
4.Freeroll Tourneys
This is a free entry into a slots tournament (no buy in fee). You play against other players, trying to maximise your virtual bank roll so that you appear on the winners list on the leaderboard.
The winners normally get a free entry into a money tournament or win a cash prize. Again, this is a good no-risk option.
5.The Free Spins Casino Bonus or 1 Hour Free Bonus: from 500.00- 3000.00
We used to see a lot of this kind of bonus several years back, but it´s much rarer now. Maybe it´ll come back into fashion. The idea is that you get a certain amount of play money (we saw offers up to £/$/€3000 and above in the good old days).
There is no need to deposit, and you are allowed to transfer any winnings over and above the original amount into a real account. At this point, you would need to make a deposit.

What the New UK Rules Mean for Players
In Force Jan 2026
The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) introduced sweeping new bonus rules that came into force on 19 January 2026, as part of the government’s wider gambling reform programme. If you’re playing at a UK-licensed casino, these changes now apply to every bonus you’re offered.
The two headline changes are:
- Wagering requirements capped at 10× — a bonus can require no more than 10 times its value in bets before winnings become withdrawable. So a £20 bonus can carry a maximum £200 wagering requirement. Previously some casinos set requirements of 40× or 50×, meaning a £20 bonus could require £1,000 in bets before you could withdraw a penny.
- Mixed-product bonuses banned — casinos can no longer offer a bonus that requires you to play more than one type of gambling product (e.g. combining a sports bet with slots play) as a condition of receiving or clearing the bonus.
For slots players, the 10× cap is a welcome improvement. Offers that once looked attractive but carried harde wagering conditions are now legally required to be more achievable. Casinos must also communicate wagering requirements in clear monetary terms — so instead of seeing “35× wagering,” a casino must show you exactly how many pounds you need to bet before you can cash out.
⚠ One thing to watch: the 10× cap applies to the bonus amount, not your deposit. Game contribution rates (the percentage each spin counts toward clearing the wagering requirement) are not yet regulated, so some casinos may still apply reduced weightings to certain slots. Always check the game contribution rates in the full T&Cs. These rules apply to UK-licensed operators only — offshore casinos not licensed by the UKGC are not bound by them.
