Playtech Casinos

playtech casinosPlaytech is a gaming software development company that was started back in 1999, some 5 years after Microgaming.

So initially, they played catch up- but boy, have they caught up. The company developes games for online casinos, in the main, and has launched some of the best online slots of recent times through its partner casinos. It is listed in London Stock Exchange (FTSE 250).

The company was formed by online gambling guru Teddy Sagi; the company went public in 2006 at a market capitalisation of around £550 million. If we were to single out a few of the best Playtech casinos? Well, check out the reviews below, but if we were to put money on it (you generally do when you’re playing slots), we’d play Paddy Power Slots as they have such a good range of Playtech AND IGT games in their casino, and the new slots-centric casino from the Mansion Group: Slots Heaven Casino, which pretty much has the whole range (you’ll need to go elsewhere for IGT slots though)

So where do we start? In terms of slots, I guess the most famous Playtech slots are the games that make up their DC Comics range: so the Superman 2 slot, Batman and Catwoman, Green Lantern and Batman and the BatGirl Bonanza among others. They also have some pretty cool movie slots like The Mummy and one of our personal favourites: The Gladiator Slot. And if you want a laugh, then try their Monty Python slot if you have a free minute.

Playtech used to offer a big range of Marvel Games (the Hulk was probably their most famous) but they discontinued the games when Disney bought the Marvel franchise and decided that they didn’t want to play the slots game anymore. To replace these excellent games, Playtech came up with the Age of the Gods slots range which have all same features as the Marvel range (plus extras) all packaged together in a fantastically designed series of games that are well worth a try. Our favourite is probably the original Age of Gods game, but there are some excellent additions to the series like the King of Olympus slot, God of Storms and Furious 4. We can’t recommend then highly enough.

Progressive Games

Like most of the big games developers like Microgaming and IGT, Playtech have a handy range of slots that feed a progressive network. Most of their Age of Gods slots are plugged into the jackpot (the 50 line versions for example), but you can also play stand alone games like Beach Life and Gold Rally.

Volatile Slots

For those of you who like a high variance slot- and by that we mean a slot that flips between having mothballs in its wallet to spraying the coins out (with not much in between) , we’d recommend Great Blue – an underwater themed game that is relaxing to play at first, but will get your adrenaline going if you do manage to hit its sweet spot.

Another adrenaline pumping game is the Marilyn Monroe Slot Machine which also sits in the high volatility category. These games aren’t for everyone, but you can hit it big if your luck is in.

Just remember, though, you need a big enough bank roll to be able to weather the dry periods on both of these games.. This is not for everyone.

Branded Slots

the flintstones slotOne of the things that separates Playtech out form the competition, is their range of branded slots. They have some very successful games based on personalities such as Frankie Detorri’s Magic Seven Slot, plus a whole range of DC Comics slots that we have mentioned above and others that are themed on big movie blockbusters like Gladiator and the Mummy slot. Maximum entertainment is the name of the game!

Look out for some of the newer games like Robocop, Top Gun (there’s a great Dog Fight Wilds bonus on this game -welcome to the Danger Zone Maverick) and the Flintstones which sits alongside that other cartoon classic- the Pink Panther slot. Yabadabadoo! If you want to creep yourself out, go ahead and try the Jekyll and Hyde slot. Brrrrrr. Shiver.
