Monty Python’s Spamalot Slot Machine
If you are someone who loves a slot with a difference, a big surreal difference, then Monty Python’s Spamalot Slot Machine will tickle your funny bone as you go after those wins.
There are many things to will get you rolling around on the floor, but the laugh-out-loud silliness of the comedy genius of Monty Python is in a class of its own.
And now the work of the famed comedy collective has been expanded from the TV show, the movies and the hit global musical, to include Monty Python’s Spamalot Slot Machine.
If you are a fan, you’ll love this Monty Python Slot. If you’re not, or you don’t know who Monty Python is, then it’s not going to make a lot of sense. This Playtech slot is very silly (well it is a Spamalot Slot, as in the luncheon meat, not the unsolicited email).
The designers at Playtech are good at movie-themed slots (like the Gladiator Slot Machine) and cartoon themes (like the Flinstones: also a movie of course). Try the Top Gun slot for another of their Hollywood inspired slots.
Look and Feel
This game is based on the Spamalot musical comedy which is a spin-off of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, a movie so off the wall that the script contains the line “Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!”. As you’d expect, this is a surreal slot experience.
The graphics are top of the line with the madcap styling that is the signature look of Monty Python and a vital element in the gameplay.
The background to the reel-set is an animated hilly scene with trees and the sun setting in the distance. If you look carefully, you’ll see signposts directing you to Camelot. The whole game is cartoon-style (like the Pink Panther Slot– another Playtech classic).
The music can get a bit too much, but then again you can always turn it off. It remains one of our favourite slot games, but then we are big Monty Python fans.
The Full Monty Python Slot Run Down- Game Play
Monty Python’s Spamalot is a five-reel, three-row and thirty pay line progressive slot which contains a lot of silly, reel-spinning fun.
This game is stuffed with five bonus features and that’s before you even get to the two progressive jackpots. The more you bet the more chance you have at winning the progressives.
There are six of the movie characters who make up the group of high-value icons and they are all images from the movie. These include King Arthur (land five of him and win a thousand coins), Sir Lancelot (there eight hundred coins for you if you land five) Sir Galahad (five of him net you six hundred coins), Sir Belvedere (five make you five hundred coins), brave, brave Sir Robin (five of this knight award you four hundred coins) and Patsy (five of her are worth three hundred coins).
The lower value icons are the Ace through Jack of the card deck.
2 Wilds and a Scatter
The slot’s Wild is the Holy Grail icon that substitutes for all icons except for the shield Scatter Bonus.
There is also another Wild, The Holy Grail icon which only lands on reel 5 and can bring additional Wilds with it when it moves across the reels.
The Scatter only lands on reels 1, 3 and 5 and if you manage this, you will trigger the Quest of Camelot free games feature.
The Wild is worth landing with five on an active line triggering the top win of 5,000 coins. Four wilds lined up left to right net you 1,500 coins.
On the first and last reels are Bonus Cloud symbols which trigger all four Acts in the bonus stage feature. Every time you land a Bonus symbol on reels 1 and 5 you get one of the 4 bonus games.
The bonus games are:
Storm the Castle
This is an anarchic picking game where you choose from six spots in a field and then watch the French Knights chuck a cow at you. If they miss you, you get a prize and get to pick a gain. If they hit you, it’s all over.
None Shall Pass
The crazy brave knight blocks your way and you get four goes to defeat him. Each successful hit takes off a limb (“It’s only a flesh wound!”) and you get a prize that is inflated by the current multiplier (up to x5). If you miss, the multiplier reduces by x1.
The bonus finishes after four attacks and any prizes are paid up.
The Knights Who Say Ni
The Knights Who Say Ni clamour for shrubbery and you get up to three chances to ferret out the best shrubs in the second stage. You can try and win again but you cannot head back: the next prize could be lower.
The Killer Rabbit
Six knights must find their way past the killer rabbit. Choose a rock under which you think the rabbit is hiding. If you pick correctly, the remaining knights pass and you get a bonus prize. Pick one of the wrong rocks and one of your knights gets killed by the rabbit. Yikes!
Pros and Cons
Great fun. This game is a hoot!
