We’ve become so used to blockbuster slot launches from NetEnt, that we tend to get a bit blasé about them. Until we give them a go, and realise that once again they’ve moved the bar for all the other slots designers out there. Try the game out over at Party Casino or any of the other sites featured below. Royal Panda casino is one of our latest favourites.
And Warlords: Crystals of Power™ is one of those slots- this game is an epic with a fantasy theme that brings to mind the Game of Thrones (the TV series, not the slot game which we’ve always found disappointing) and Microgaming’s smash hit game- Thunderstruck 2. You can go ahead and play it here or try the free Warlords slot game at Wombat Casino. It’s the Thunderstruck 2 players that Net Ent have obviously gone after with this game.
The main characters in this game are the Bearded Barbarian, the Priestess and the Samurai- it’s fantasy action all the way. The fautures include random wilds, re-spins, a Final Chance bonus, plus Barbarian, Samurai and Priestess free spins (3 different kinds in other words).
The 3 main characters stack over 3 reels. Then you have lower paying symbols such as the wolf, the puma, a ferocious looking boar, a couple of masks and a broach. Th design on this game is stunning- easily comparable to other classics like the Wild Toro slot and Babushkas.
The wild symbol is the 3 gem piece of jewelry. These will stand in for everything apart from scatters (standard practice there). Another cool feature are the Random Overlay Wilds (same symbol). Every time you spin the reels, you can trigger one of these off- they run off a different reel set and overlay the main game. There are 3 types:
The Barbarian Hammer smash gives your 4 wilds in a square. The Priestess Arrow gifts you between 2 and 5 wilds, as does the Samurai Swaord but on slightly different reels.
3 is obviously the lucky number in the Warlords slot, because there are also 3 scatter symbols- they look like the different houses of the main characters (inspired by Game of Thrones on this one by the look of it).
The blue belongs to the Barbarian and his free spins. The green is the Priestess free spins and the red belong to the Samurai.
The game feature they trigger is 3 free spins, 1 Multiploer or 1 Sticky Wild respectively- more on that below because you also get a number of free spins initially. If you see 2 or more scatters you’ll also get a re-spin. The scatters only appear on the middle 3 reels (2,3 and 4) except if you are in a re-spin in which case they can show up anywhere.
If 3 scatters land that are the same colour- that’s all good and the feature kicks off. if they are different colours they randomly transform until you have 3 of the same. You’ll need to wait until this has happened before you know what kind of reward you are getting.
They like to fight, the characters on this slot! If you get 2 different scatters on the reel in the base game, it’s Fight Time! 1 of the scatters is randomly chosen after a battle and it morphs into the other. That’s a 50/50 which one you are going to get. If you have 2 the same and 1 different, you have a 75% chance that all scatters will transform into the one you have most of. You might also see 3 different scatters, in which case you are back to having an even chance of which scatter comes out on top. Is this starting to remind you of Dungeons and Dragons? It’s pretty straightforward actually, when you have played for a bit. Just get stuck in!
The animations are very cool during the re-spins- symbols drop trailing a tail of fire behind them.
If you didn’t trigger the free spins with 3 or more scatters, you are given a Final Chance which revelas either a coin win or a scatter (which finally gives you the free spins).
Initially, the Barbarian free spins (the blue one) gives you a minimum of 9 free spins. You’ll get at leadst 7 off the green Priestess and 5 of the red Samurai. All good!
The Warlords Crystals of Power Slot has 30 pay-lines.
The designers have really thrown a lot of features at this game, and it can seem confusing just reading the pay-table. But once you start playing, all becaomes clear pretty quickly, so your best bet is just to wade in their and play. An excellent game from the visual masters! 5 stars.
