Goddess of Wisdom has five reels, three rows and 20 pay-lines.
The reels are set against the backdrop of a high temple looking over the ancient city of Athens. The game’s high value icons are a shield bearing the snake-covered head of the gorgon Medusa, there is the armoured breast plate of the goddess, a Greek battle helmet, a pair of magical silver sandals, and a sprig of olive, a traditional symbol of the goddess Athena.
The lower value icons are the A through 9 of a card deck.
Goddess of Wisdom’s Wild- a fierce brunette Athena armoured to do battle- appears on reels 2,3 and 4 and substitutes for all symbols except the Scatter. This game’s Scatter is Athena’s own symbol, a majestic owl.
The game’s soundtrack has the steely tones of a battle, with some strange effects that sound like the sharpening of a blade as we prepare to face down the invaders!
There are some nice touches that add to the high-class packaging of the game: a win lights up the icons with magical gold dust.
This game has a turbo and an autoplay mode for those players out there who like to keep things moving!
Battle Game – Free Spins Galore!
To enter the Battle Game mode you have to get three or more Scatters on the reels. Once these are in place you’re in! You have to save Athens from blood-thirsty invaders, but thankfully you have the goddess of wisdom’s protection.
The Battle mode is based on three different Free Spin modes and these increase the tension of gameplay and hopefully will build the winnings too.
During this feature there is an expanding Wilds feature which also ratchets up the action. Just land one during the free spins and it will expand to fill the reel.
You can opt for ten free games, seven free games with a nifty quadruple multiplier, or a whopping 14 free games with a double multiplier.
Jackpot Feature
Just like all the Age of the Gods series, Goddess of Wisdom has a progressive Jackpot feature for added spice. The Jackpot is randomly triggered so it could pop up at any point in play.
When it does, you are presented with a grid of 20 golden coins. You have to flip the coins to find three of the same symbol to win one of four jackpots. Ultimate Power jackpot is the most rewarding.
Summary
I like the theming of the Age of the Gods series and Goddess of Wisdom certainly looks the part with great graphics and enough amusement away from the base game to keep things interesting.
If you like the classical immortal genre, then this slot will appeal with its packaging and slick gameplay.
